Local newspapers are dying, and in July 2024, The Upper Hutt Leader took its last breath. 

Since then, nothing except council updates (not bad btw) and Facebook pages (Yea/Nah) have replaced our local news.

For those that remember Teletext, our concept of Hutt Riva is designed around the idea of providing clear and easy to understand information without the clickbait, outrage or doom scroll features of today's media.

Named after Te Awa Kairangi/Hutt River, Hutt Riva's vision is simple - Connect Upper Hutt Residents to the things that matter to them most.
